"Anime Central (ACen) is the Midwest Anime, Manga, and Asian Culture Convention. ACen is sponsored by the Midwest Animation Promotion Society (MAPS), and over more than a decade has grown into one of the largest fan-run conventions of its type in the country. ACen is known for providing a fun, exciting environment for fans of all ages.

ACen will convene for its 12th annual event on May 8-10, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare and the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois — just a few minutes from O’Hare International Airport, and 30 minutes from the heart of downtown Chicago.


As part of its mission, ACen brings fans together with guests from the Japanese and US sectors of the anime and manga industry, as well as gaming, cinema, and Asian culture personalities.
